Why Job-Site Video Converts Better Than Stock Footage

A lot of home service businesses default to stock footage or a templated explainer video because it's cheap and available. It also tends to convert worse than a rougher, real video of the actual crew doing the actual work.

Buyers can tell the difference

Hiring someone to work on your house is a high-trust decision. Viewers are quick to recognize stock footage, and it subtly signals that the business is bigger on marketing spend than field experience — the opposite of what most trades businesses want to communicate.

What actually works

Short, real clips: a crew arriving on-site, a specific technique being used, a before/after reveal, a homeowner reaction. None of it needs to be scripted — it needs to be clearly shot and well-cut.
